Back to Dance Checklist

Can you believe it’s already back to dance time!? 2018 was such a fantastic year for Dance on the Central Coast and we can’t wait to see what this year brings. We’re ready to help you out with everything you need for back to dance, with huge restocking orders arriving in store! We’ll be well stocked up in dance shoes, leotards, tights, skirts – all your back to dance essentials.

To help get you sorted for the new dance year, we’ve put together our BACK TO DANCE checklist for 2019! All the things you’ll need to have a fantastic year of dance!

1. New dance shoes – Why does every child grow a million centimeters over the Christmas break?! We often suggest to parents to hold off buying new shoes in December as we know how much children grow over the holiday period. If you’ve outgrown your shoes, or worn them out come along and see us. We’ll be fully stocked up on jazz shoes, ballet shoes, pointe shoes, character shoes, lyrical shoes and tap shoes!

2. A dance bag – Every dancer needs somewhere to put all their things! Dance bags are a must have essential! Separate pockets to keep your shoes away from your tights and your drink bottle away from your shoes! There’s a range of styles, sizes and colours so you can pick the one that’s perfect for your week at dance!

3. A pass to your favourite holiday workshop! Let’s be real, the best thing about dance holidays, is the dancing you get to do during the holidays! There are so many great workshops on offer out there and they are such a fantastic way to keep up your training during the long summer break.

4. Tights tights tights – Where do they go? In the mad rush of concert season, tights always seem to go missing. Back to Dance is the perfect time to get yourself some lovely fresh new ones.

5. Your studio timetable – What classes are you doing this year? Are you picking up a new style, are you changing dance schools, are you switching days to make it easier on your family? Whatever you’re doing this year, you’ll want a copy of your studios timetable quick smart, it will help you plan your time out and help get you excited about the new term starting.

6. A drink bottle – Dancers are athletes, we use so much energy and in these summer months it’s so important to remember to take your drink bottle to dance class!

7. New dance clothes –  With all that holiday growing you’ll be needing new leotards, dance shorts or ballet skirts. Or maybe you haven’t grown out but you just have to have a new outfit to start the dance year.

8. A journal – The best way to keep track of your progress, record your goals, or remember your corrections is to keep a dance journal! Any plain notebook will do the job! Make sure you pop one into your brand new dance bag, with your new shoes and leotard to get yourself set for the best dance year ever!

We hope you have the most amazing year of dance this year! And don’t forget to pop in and see us, we love hearing your stories and following your dance journeys!

Happy Dancing,

Alisa
