10 Concert Must Haves
It’s concert time! Can you believe we’re at this time already?! We adore concert season. Seeing the sparkle and excitement after a whole year of hard work is such a treat. It is always such a pleasure to help our lovely dancers out with their end of year concert needs. We’ve put together our top 10 concert must haves list to help get you ready for the stage!
Top 10 Concert Must Haves:
1. Tights tights tights! If there’s one thing you need for concert it is new dance tights. “Clean, no holes, and a spare” as our teachers used to tell us when we were young (some things never change). Click here to shop for dance tights
2. Your makeup kit! By now you’ve probably built up quite the stock of makeup – our makeup bags are such a perfect way to store it all, with a built in mirror, a hook to hang it, and lots of little compartments for your goodies
3. Shoe paint – the best way to give your tired dance shoes a new lease of life for the end of the year. If they still fit, avoid buying a new pair until back to dance time and give them a few coats of colour change, they’ll be stage ready in no time
4. Lashes! Nothing makes your stage makeup pop quite like a set of false lashes
5. Dance underwear! From clear back bras to high cut briefs – these goodies become the base of any costume and are a definite must have for any performer
6. Costume bags – those gorgeous costumes that you’ve waited so long to be able to wear deserve the very best. A clear front costume bag with separate compartments for shoes and tights will make your time backstage a breeze
7. Bobby pins – where do they all go?! Of the 1024553 I am sure I’ve purchased in my life time I have zero left! STOCK UP! You never know when you’ll need one, whether it’s holding back wispy hair, or fixing your tiara in place, make sure bobby pins are on your concert shopping list.
8. A stitch kit! Never be caught out with a ribbon that’s come off your pointe shoes. Pop a stitch kit in your dance bag to be prepared for those little costume malfunctions
9. A sharpie. You won’t believe how many customers tell us they “lost their dance shoes/tights/foot undeez etc. at the theatre! LABEL EVERYTHING! Just think, you’re on the stage with another 10 students all wearing the exact same thing as you, what happens when you take them off in a mad rush to get ready for your next routine? Simply labeling your things with your name can help you avoid needing last minute replacements.
10. Energy! Concert time is hectic for everyone. Make sure you’re fueling your body properly. Lots of water, plenty of healthy snacks and a balanced diet to get you through those long rehearsals
